Fridays 8:30-10:30pm: Noches Musicales  Enjoy the summer breeze in the Brown Plaza with live music Every Friday of the summer.

 

 

Saturday  9-11pm: Movies in the patio Every Saturday of the summer!. Bring  your lawn chairs and watch a movie on the big screen outside in the summer breeze. Check with us to see what's the movie of the week.

The purposes of the El Comité are the following:

1. To identify problems which affect the youth of our community and their causes;
     thereafter to eliminate such problems.
2. To promote awareness of our beautiful history and culture.
3. To develop cultural activities which promote such awareness and understanding of problems.
4. Through such artistic, musical and theatrical activities to promote:
    a. True cooperation and respect for all human beings.
     b. Equality and mutual assistance between our cultures.
     c. Love towards work and education and respect towards all workers.

 

Some of our accomplishments are the development of Casa De La Cultura’s Ballet Folklorico Del Rio, Teatro Mexica, the Annual International Women’s Day Conference, Annual Summer Art Camps, outreach art classes with over 2,000 children from Head Start, literacy & citizenship classes, bird watching field trips and many after school art and tutorial classes and Summer Music Series Noches Musicales.The Casa de la Cultura is also a part of Heart of Del Rio. One of a few Art Galleries in town that host First Friday Art Walk.
